warming the world

one stitch at a time

Hilary Hart founded Global Warming as she stared at ball of beautiful, reddish-orange wool wondering what to do with it. Her sweater was finished, and the balls of yarn were piling up in the tiny closet of her tiny cabin on Whidbey Island, Washington. She didn't want to waste it... but...

What could you do with one little half-skein ball of wool?

She then thought about how many similar balls of yarn were lovingly held, all over the world. Was there something that knitters could all do together with this leftover yarn? Why not?

That was the birth of Global Warming (the good kind!)
